INSTRUCTIONS
1. In a large skillet on medium heat, add in 2 tablespoon of cooking oil. Once the oil is hot, can easily move around the skillet and shimmers, add in sliced smoked sausages. Cook for about 1 minute on each side to brown. When done, remove from the skillet and set aside.
2. Next, turn the skillet heat up to medium-high heat and add in ground beef and season with all purpose seasoning, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt to taste if desired. Cook beef for about 5 to 7 minutes or until it is fully cooked. Once cooked, remove and strain the beef from the skillet and set aside. Leave about 1 tablespoon of grease in the skillet.
3. Lastly, reduce the skillet heat back down to medium. Add in diced onion, red bell pepper, and green bell pepper. Add in a pinch of salt and cook for about 2 to 3 minutes until onions and peppers are slightly softened. Next, add in minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds to 1 minute. Then, remove from the skillet.
4. Preheat the oven to 375ºF.
5. In a large baking pan, add in 4 drained cans of Baked Beans. Next, mix in jerk seasoning paste, ketchup, dark brown sugar, honey, Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, apple cider vinegar, and ground cinnamon. Then, mix in browned smoked sausages, cooked beef, and cooked onion, bell peppers & garlic. Make sure all ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
6. You can taste the mixture before placing in the oven to see if you would like to add salt and/or other spices to taste.
7. Place the pan in the oven uncovered and bake for 50 to 60 minutes.
8. After baking, let the pan rest for about 10 minutes. Then mix the ingredients once more before serving.
If you would like to get thicker beans, after cooking, use a slotted spoon, strain the beans and transfer to a separate bowl. With the remaining liquid in the pan, add to the baked beans as desired to achieve desired thickness.
