  • 1 Red Bell Pepper, chopped

  • 1 Green Bell Pepper, chopped

  • 1 medium Yellow Onion, chopped

  • Pinch of Salt, for vegetables

  • Avocado Oil, or neutral oil of choice, to cook steak and vegetables

Steak Marinade

  • 2 tbsp low-sodium Soy Sauce

  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp Avocado Oil, neutral oil of choice

  • 2 tsp reduced-sodium Rice Vinegar

  • 1 ½ tsp Cornstarch

  • ½ tsp Black Pepper

  • ½ tsp Granulated White Sugar, or brown sugar

  • ½ tsp Baking Soda

Sauce

  • ½ cup low-sodium Soy Sauce

  • 2 tbsp Beef Stock, or unsalted beef stock

  • 2 tbsp reduced-sodium Rice Vinegar

  • 1 ½ tbsp Granulated White Sugar, or brown sugar

  • 2 tsp Cornstarch

  • ½ tsp Black Pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Pat steak dry. Thinly slice flank steak against the grain into about ¼-inch strips. Add steak into a medium-sized bowl.

  • 1 pound Flank Steak, sliced into ⅛-to-¼ inch thin strips

2. For the steak marinade, toss the steak in soy sauce, minced garlic, oil, rice vinegar, cornstarch, black pepper, sugar, and baking soda. Mix well and fully coat the steak in the marinade. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes, up to 1 hour.

  • 2 tbsp low-sodium Soy Sauce

  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp Avocado Oil, neutral oil of choice

  • 2 tsp reduced-sodium Rice Vinegar

  • 1 ½ tsp Cornstarch

  • ½ tsp Black Pepper

  • ½ tsp Granulated White Sugar, or brown sugar

  • ½ tsp Baking Soda

3. To make the sauce, in a separate medium-sized bowl add in soy sauce, beef stock, rice vinegar, sugar, cornstarch, and black pepper. Mix and whisk together ingredients well. Set aside.

  • ½ cup low-sodium Soy Sauce

  • 2 tbsp Beef Stock, or unsalted beef stock

  • 2 tbsp reduced-sodium Rice Vinegar

  • 1 ½ tbsp Granulated White Sugar, or brown sugar

  • 2 tsp Cornstarch

  • ½ tsp Black Pepper

4. When ready to cook, heat a large skillet to medium-high heat. Add in 2 tbsp cooking oil. Once oil is hot, shimmers and easily moves around the skillet, add steak to the skillet in batches. Be sure not to overcrowd the skillet. Sear steak for about 1 minute to brown and then flip over to continue cooking for an additional 1 minute to brown. Remove from the skillet and repeat until all of the steak is cooked.

  • Avocado Oil, or neutral oil of choice, to cook steak and vegetables

5. Once done cooking the steak, reduce heat to medium, add in more oil if necessary, then toss in chopped onion and chopped bell peppers. Sprinkle with a pinch of salt and saute for a couple of minutes until onions and peppers are slightly softened.

  • 1 Red Bell Pepper, chopped

  • 1 Green Bell Pepper, chopped

  • 1 medium Yellow Onion, chopped

  • Pinch of Salt, for vegetables

  • Avocado Oil, or neutral oil of choice, to cook steak and vegetables

6. Next, pour the sauce into the skillet, stir and simmer for a few minutes until the sauce thickens. Then, toss the steak into the skillet and mix well until all ingredients are combined and the steak is reheated. Serve and enjoy.
